Princeton Ballet School offers Summer Courses for Children. Summer Children's Classes have ended for 2017. Stay tuned for Summer 2018 information!

Summer Courses for Children

Students must be between 3 and 12 years old.  The dancer must have turned the appropriate age by July 1. Scroll for a full list of classes and click for more information about each.

Summer Course Information


Hand in Hand - Summer 2017
Hand in Hand is designed for three and four year old dancers and their parents. The class will focus on discovering the world of rhythm and dance through gentle exercises and dances hand in hand.
Beginning Dance - Summer 2017
Beginning Dance is a class for the 4-year-old student. This is a pre-ballet class which focuses on exploring the world of dance through movement and rhythm, games and stories.
Children's Summer Ballet - Summer 2017
This class is for the 5-7 year old beginner. The class introduces students to the study of classical ballet, combining its teacher-directed basics with lots of imaginative dancing. Dancers work on basic body alignment from the very beginning, to build safe habits for future work.
Children's Ballet II - Summer 2017
Children's Ballet II is for the slightly older beginner, age 8-12 (must be 8 years old by July 1, 2017). Dancers are introduced to the basic barre and center work of the ballet class, concentrating on safe alignment. The imaginative elements of the young children’s classes are still present, but in smaller amounts.
Children’s Intermediate Ballet - Summer 2017
The Children’s Intermediate Ballet Summer Course is for the 7- to 10-year-old student with one or more years of ballet training. (Princeton Ballet School students must have completed Intermediate 1, 2 or 3.)
