American Repertory Ballet believes that the arts are
integral to our daily lives and is committed to serving
the community with high quality arts programs. Our educational
mission is to provide a means for everyone, either as
active participant or informed observer, to be exposed
to, and to develop a lifelong appreciation of dance.
ARB’s educational initiatives include the Princeton
Ballet School, which offers a wide range of studio classes
to dancers of all ages; Dance Power, an arts/community
partnership; Student Matinees, which bring students
and teachers to the theater for live performances; and
our outreach programs in public and private schools.
American Repertory Ballet tailors residencies and workshops
to meet the needs of diverse public and private school
populations. The magical world of classical ballet becomes
a hands-on experience for students and classroom teachers
through a specific dance work. ARB designs experiential,
curriculum-based dance programs that explore the body
of knowledge and skills of the dance discipline. ARB’s
study guides are coded to New Jersey’s Performing Arts
Standards. Our teaching staff are highly skilled dancers
who help students make connections from their lives
to the art of dance, to dance instruction and to professional
performances.
