Giulia Settimo was born in Foggia, Italy. From 2001-2012 she studied ballet, contemporary and modern dance at Danzàrea (a private school in Foggia). During those years she took part in several workshops with dancers of international renown such as Frederic Oliveri, Margarita Trayanova, Elisabetta Terabust and others. In 2010, she received a scholarship for the workshop Up to You held by the director of the Opéra National de Paris, Claude Bessy. Also in 2010, she attended the first edition of the International Dance Award San Nicola, after which she won a scholarship for a German contemporary dance company at the Tanzcompagnie of Giessen. In 2012 she auditioned for the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome and achieved all the theoretical and practical examinations of the year. In March 2013 she took part in ARB’s Rome audition and was accepted into the Trainee Program. She’s danced in several of the school’s performances, including Hop, Skip and Joplin, Grumpy Bird, Sleeping Beauty (Carabosse), Nutcracker (Snow, Flowers and Marzipan) and Don Quixote (Dream Kitry). Giulia has also appeared in the following ARB performances: Firebird, A Midsummer Night’s Dream (a firefly and a fairy), Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker (Arabian backup and Chinese soloist) and Rite of Spring.
