Hailing from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Aldeir Monteiro started dancing at the age of 15, and by 16,
he was encouraged to audition for a professional ballet program. Balanchine’s “Serenade” is one of his favorite ballets to perform but he would love to tackle more dramatic, demanding roles such as “Romeo” and “Don Jose.” During this time of quarantine, Aldeir has been taking ballet classes, walking in the park and spending time in the kitchen.
