Emily Parker from Forbes, New South Wales, Australia, started dancing at Lia’s School of Dance at age five. Emily attended The McDonald College Performing Arts School training under Josephine Jason, Josh Consandine, Gina Breschiani and Jane Kesby. Emily has completed all RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) levels with distinctions.
She has performed in a youth ballet company from ages 13-18 with her most prestigious roles being the Sugar Plum Fairy and Black Swan. Emily has attended many summer programs, including Sydney Dance Company and Boston Ballet, and performed as a guest artist with The Australian Ballet. Emily received the Audrey Esteé scholarship with PBS and joined the ARB trainee program in 2015 appearing as the White Swan in her graduating performance. She was promoted to Apprentice in 2017 and soon after company member in 2018. Her featured roles with ARB include Dew Drop, Arabian lead, Chinese lead, Spanish lead and Marzipan lead in the Nutracker, and she originated the role of Kitty Bennett in Douglas Martin’s, Pride and Prejudice.
Her repertoire also includes Mary Barton’s Scarlet Sonata, Shades of Time and Straight up with a Twist, Douglas Martin’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Rite of Spring, Firebird and Romeo and Juliet, José Limón’s There is a Time, and Kirk Peterson’s Carmen. She currently teaches Levels 1-5 and the open enrollment classes with Princeton Ballet School.
